The Murray’s twin-towns of Echuca-Moama will burst into song next month for the Riverboats Music Festival following on from the huge success of last year’s inaugural event.
Bringing together music, locally sourced food and wine and the region’s iconic paddle-steamers, the Festival will be held in a picturesque natural amphitheatre surrounded by towering river red gums on the banks of the Murray, close to the heart of Echuca’s historic port precinct.
Though small in size, the intimate festival has a stellar line-up of Australian artist including Pete Murray, James Reyne, Joe Camilleri & the Black Sorrows, Tim Rogers, Clare Bowditch, Archie Roach, Mia Dyson, Clairy Browne & the Bangin’ Rackettes, Gossling, The Bombay Royale and more.
To add to the magic of the weekend, this year visitors will also have the opportunity to hop on board a grand old-timer of the Murray, the Pevensey paddle-steamer, for a two-hour river cruise before the start of the festival on Saturday. There’s more sensory satisfaction with plenty of Victorian produce to sate the appetite. Tourism Award winner Beechworth Bakery will host the Official Festival Breakfast on the Sunday with live music and views over Campaspe River.
The 2013 Riverboats Music Festival will take place from Friday, February 15 to Sunday February 17. Tickets can be purchased on the website – www.riverboatsmusic.com.au
